Order now from Western Star Records.
The new CD album from “Those Deadbeat Cats” is out mid-February 2023 on the world famous rockabilly label “Western Star” from Bristol in the UK. Titled; “This ain’t rockabilly, this is …. Those Deadbeat Cats” the 13 track album is packed with crowd pleasers performed by this Norfolk based, 3 piece “rockabilly” band who bend the rockabilly genre to breaking point with liberal doses of ska, blues, punk, rock, jazz and country while retaining the wild, guitar twanging, bass slapping supersonic rockabilly beats and attitude of a neo-rockabilly band.
Virtually all covers of songs from the 1980s, full of surprises along the way and played hard and fast make this album a thrill ride from start to finish. Those Deadbeat Cats have been super-busy gigging in small venues since they formed around 5 years ago but finally crawl out of the shadows with this recent signing to Western Star records and produced by the psychobilly legened that is Alan Wilson of “The Sharks“, “Frantic Flitstones“, etc. Hear the hits of The Human League, Duran Duran, Cameo, Madonna, Culture Club, Soft Cell, Dead or Alive, Guns & Roses, Depeche Mode, Tiffany, Motorhead & more, given no respect whatsovever!!
The album title is dedicated to the eloquent lady at an all day rock ‘n’ roll festival we played a few years back, who, in a brief quite moment between our songs, waved her event flyer in the air loudly decalaring “This ain’t rockabilly, this is sh*t” in response to our performance. The band extends a massive “thank you” to this lady. The inspiration she gave us to twist our set list and our style even further out of the conventional rock ‘n’ roll blueprint is priceless!
